Here's the problem right here why so many at CRE fail with a lease. They do not have the basic business skills to understand what's happening.

5 years leasing with CRE and you never figured out that you were actually losing money on the fuel recap. If you can manage a modest 6.2 mpg, the rebate puts an extra $10 to $15 per 1000 miles in your pocket. Or more since you now have control of when and where you buy your fuel.

Ok Mystic lets see I have the CRE business guide. In fact i was going thru some of my stuff and just happened on it this morn. I followed that religously. And still barely made a paycheck. I stopped at every place that came across my qualcomm. I got only the amount that was told to get. %85 of the time I followed the rte given to me. I knew I was losing money tho wasn't much I could do. And its hard when u are taking a load of lettuce for 40k over the rockies going east and still manage a 4.85 miles per gallon to get ur fuel cap.. tho they may be nice on ur next load and run u midwest with 30k frozen...all flat...so that would be easy.

Yea I knew it was difficult and it was generally more then $25-$30 per $1000 I was losing no matter what I did.

I think 5yrs was long enough. And having to put up with 2 DMs that didn't run u miles was pretty crappy because it ended up costing me alot of money. That and when I got behind in truck payments because I was in the hospital for 3weeks they were real nice and said no prob...till I got back out running thene they started taking an extra $250 a week in truck payments to "Help me catch up"...or so they said

I've quit before, so I'm sureI can do it again. Like anything else, it simply boils down to one easy question. That being, do you want it bad enough to do what it takes to make it happen? I do. I approach getting into my own truck the same way. Nothing worth achieving ever comes easy. It takes hard work, sacrifice, responsibility, budgeting, etc....

You missed my point and made my point. You shouldn't be getting into business, if you don't understand business.

CRE's business guide for leasees is designed to do one thing and one thing only ... Make CRE money. Follow it at your own peril.

You have to do your own analysis, make your own decsions and run your own business.

The majority of people that jump into leases - more so CRE than other companies - don't have the basic business acum to put together a business model, do the analysis against that model and then work the model to either ensure the success of thier business or to know when to close up shop and go home.

And THAT is why most leases and new owner operators fail I bet. More than anything. They don't know how to run a business.

Exactly Mystichz I agree..I have a 2yr degree in Business management and have run my own small business in Cal and Ia. The business guide for CRE is exactly designed to profit the company. While I worked there there was 2 mech in the SLC garage that owned 6 or more trucks and leased them with CRE. They have drivers running their trucks and doing the miles. they both said the same. When you first year lease is up go to Zion National bank in SLC and apply for a loan. Zion doesnt go by credit so much but if you can show ur leasing with CRe they will loan u the money, and your payments are $#00-$350 cheaper per week on a newer truck. I was going over my CRE Business guide this morning and I followed everything in it and didn't make crap.

so if you get decent mileage you are better off with the "rebate"?
