I am new to the CB world and have a couple of questions. Let me first tell you that a bought a (so they say) professionaly "peaked and tuned" Uniden PC68LTW (supposedly 15-22 watts PEP) and currently have it connected to a cheap antenna - one of those 2 1/2 foot center loaded antenna from Midland mounted in the center of the roof of my 2009 Ford Crown Victoria. My questions are:
1. Which pairs better to this particular setup the K30 or the Lil Wil?
2. If I buy the K30 or the Lil Wil I would have to mount it on my trunk... Would then, my current antenna be better since its mounted on top of my roof? --- I guess what I am asking in this question is what is better a smaller antenna mounted on the roof of the car that reaches higher or a longer antenna (k30 or lil wil) mounted on the trunk that reaches lower.
Note: I know longer antennas are better but I wanted to stay under the 3'ish range....
Thank you

Better than these are the Wilson 1000 or Wilson 5000. Check them out. If not and you're limited to either of these two, pick the Lil Wil.

I have 3 of the Lil Wils, and I'm more than satisfied with them. One is mounted on the roof of my pick up truck and another is mounted on the trunk of my wife's car. Both perform good, so I'm not going to complain. Just make sure to get the antenna "matched" to the vehicle.
squirrellsgnwild Thanks this. -
The Wilson antennas do a great job.I have the little will on the car and the 1000 on my SUV.They both talk really good with my old Galaxy 44.

I'm partial to the Little Wil. Been using one I picked up at a pawn shop for 15 bucks with an old Wards 40 channel mobile and easily get out 8 to 10 miles under ideal conditions. Have also done tons of highway driving since installing it and it's still secured solid as a rock.

I have a Wilson 1000 on a Magnet Mount on my pick up and works great. This way if im not in a good area, I remove it pretty easily.

Whats the trick to setting SWRs to a Ford ?
-
Thanks for all the input!!!! But still curious..... what do you think is better:
a shorter antenna mounted on the roof of the vehicle (that is higher in length from the ground ... but not as good in quality)
OR ... a longer quality antenna mounted on the trunk (that is longer in length but shorter in height from the ground) ????
NOTE: After hearing the responses.... I'll probably go with the lil wil! -
I would go with a Little Will mounted on the roof.Have the SWR set and it will perform just fine.
The closer to the center of the vehicle the better it will perform over all.
I also have a Wilson 1000 that works great on the trunk or the roof.
