Have a skip shooter 7’ antenna, mini 8 feedline, mounted on a bird perch on the mirror. Checking SWR with a MFJ 259. SWR is at 1.5 but showing a 30 ohm resistance. Will this cause issues? IMG_5604.jpeg

From what I've read, somewhere in the 30s is about normal with that mobile set up. Might do a little bonding from the antenna mount to the door, and then across the hinges to the body and see what happens. P.S. I'd tilt that antenna forward about 20 degrees away from the body and it will improve that SWR. It will blow black up about straight when going down the road. I ran the same thing and braced my antenna with a piece of lexan off the top of the mirror to keep it from flopping around so much. It worked well for me.

Thx. I have a strap coming in tomorrow should be able to hit mount, door, and chassis one the one strap. 18” long and 10 gauge. I’ve already tilted forward. Puts me approximately 13’6” when running 70 mph.

It looks spot on to me. Your meter shows around 33 ohms of resistance. So if you do the math using a 50 ohm radio, you should get 50/33 = 1.5 for SWR. I'd say enjoy your radio setup, it's looks good.

You may want to cut that grounding strap in half. Rule of thumb is 10 inches or less. Otherwise you run the risk of what's known as a ground loop, which can cause problems too.
