Well the issue I don't think is my company, is the lease company we use for the trucks.

Just a little is all you need to maintain decent oil pressure, unlike those knuckleheads who think they need to rev it sky high for some reason I never understood.

The ones that kill me are those who rev the engine up immediately before turning it off, which is the opposite of what one should do. The turbo is still spinning at eight times the speed of the engine with no oil being pumped to it.

The reason you need to idle it at a higher rpm than idle is to keep the cylinders warm, they will cool down to a low temp which cause problems like washing unburnt diesel into the oil.

I understand and remember the older trucks building up oil in the turbo and leaving a big cloud behind when you took off. Just saying not necessary to rev it wide open like some of these clowns do.

Dress warm and get one of those 12v electric heaters
There used to be one that was like a little ceramic heater, worked better than the hairdryer/defroster types.

excellent reply and i am thinking that ANY company would want their truck to be warmed up sufficiently on a very cold day before moving out not unlike allowing the turbo to cool down before shutting down.

KUDOS for not being job scared driver.

    Pariente Thanks this.
