I'm a wannabe trucker. With all the new anti-idling laws and rules. Are there any trucking companies that have their tractors equipped with APU's? If so. Do they assign newbie drivers to those tractors?
Anti-idling rules, companies that use APU's on their tractors?

Most APU's still do not qualify for Communist Cali's anti-idle laws. If a company has gone the route of installing apu's then I would imagine they would want all of thier drivers using it. most just offer bonuses for a certain milage average or minimum idle time.

Most companys ive talked to say the senior drivers get them first.

Marten out of Mondovi, WI has installed APUs on all their trucks except day cabs, I understand. IMO, the APU companies will come out on top once drivers stop sacrificing their comfort for their company.

JR Schugel outta New Ulm MN has apu's on all there company trucks, lease doesnt have them though. I ran the heck outta that apu in cali every time I was out there and never had any problems.
