    Nope! Asking for me.

I didn't know if buddyd had tried it, or was just spitballing.

I know that soaking parts in diesel fuel will dissolve all sorts of contaminants, and I would not be surprised if it can dissolve chewing gum.

you may get one chance at it.

so chew up a huge ball of gum, enough to choke a horse, and try it.

the old long gone REAL gum of decades ago, stuck to many things.

I wouldnt trust chewing gum. I sure hope it was meant in jest.
So here is what I dont understand. Why in the world were you removing something that never needs to be undone?
The last fuel tank I worked on (100 gallon) the fuel pickup was welded to the tank. The fuel coming out of the tank screwed into the bung on the side of the tank to which the siphon had been welded.

    I agree.

Pop a Bazooka bubble on your face back then, it'd stick to your face a couple days.

Now they got that new-fangled "safety gum" that won't hardly stick to anything.

So yeah, I'd go along with "you MAY have ONE shot at it"

that tool along with my telescopic magnet are becoming my favorites as I get older. If I drop a wrench or a bolt or whatever, they make it SO much easier to get something out from under the vehicle

I didn't remove it . I went to fuel and saw it was pushed in. I'm wondering if I can get it back out to put back in correctly

As long as the fuel cap didn’t fall in the tank you should be able to pull on the chain and get it.
