It's pretty hard to stop a theft if they are determined. I've had the top cut out of my trailer and they got away with 5 lcd tvs back when they where worth money.
It's all about how much time is it going to take, I can steal a Volvo in less then a minute. But if I've got to take a glad handle off and smack a king pin lock hook up and then go that's more time then I would want to spend.
Mostly it's about parking and time if someone could see somthing and you make it a pain in the ### they will move on. -
The only thing that you can do is keep the honest honest. There is no stopping a real thief.

Also don't paint a target on your truck, don't park outside a booze distribution warehouse unless you want to get jacked.

It's pretty hard to stop someone who knows how to hotwired they're usually pretty good with electrical. I've found disabling air supply to the brakes or just leaving the drain valves open is enough to deter most thieves.

I've occasionally thought of wiring up one of my 'spare' switches to break the power circuit for something like the starter or fuel pumps. Then the truck wont start unless you know to have the switch flipped even if you try to bypass the key via hot wiring.
I wonder, do thieves know about battery disconnect switches? My truck has them and I flip them when parked for hometime to preserve their charge.daf105paccar Thanks this. -
