Speaking of dogs. A kinda bitter sweet USA Today story through MSN

My rule was if i get out of the truck, she gets out of the truck. So after or while making a pick up or delivery we went for a walk. I stop for fuel, it was fuel and a walk. She was fine for 7-8-9 hours of striaght driving, when i needed to do that. It was normally between 4 or 5 hours and we’d stop and go for a walk.

 Remember....
In a house a dog sits the 8hrs your at work plus the two 1/2hr commutes you have coming & go to/from work. So a house broken dog can and will hold it for 9 hours a day. The you have to stop every two to three hours is pure nonsense. You still have a job to do, and the pup can’t be a problem.

I took my Great Dane on the road with me, she would go for up to two weeks at a time.Brettj3876 and Robert Eroica Dupea Thank this.

I would avoid any of flat faced breeds like Frenchies, Bulldogs etc. They tend to have chronic health problems and breathing difficultues that can be loud, expensive and require vet care ASAP if they develop complications like heart issues as a result of the breathing problems.Robert Eroica Dupea Thanks this.

Sirscrapntruckalot Road Train MemberGolden Doodles are awesome.

Pugs...let me warn you, they are hilarious, and full of personality. Downside? They have farts an snores that would make Satan cower and a titan to reach for earplugs. They do this funky breathing thing to. Like an awake snore...lol. Cool dogs though. Don't recall much issues with shedding.

French bulldogs are fun. Never owned one, but all the ones I've met have been playful and full of personality also. Owners seemed happy enough.

I swore if I ever got a small dog it would be a Pomeranian. My Nana had one. Awesome dog. He thought he was a bull mastiff it was hilarious. Tough little bugger to. He got caught up in a group of big dogs in the kitchen at dinner time...he ended up getting blinded in one eye, an caused a couple of the other dogs to get stitches. Like I said...he thought he was a lot bigger then he was. They do shed tho if I recall properly.

 You should be different though.

How bout a kangaroo? Perhaps a turtle? Maybe one of those mini-pigs? Ahh...I know..a goat.

	Thank you sir! Sage advice

That's the one thing I worry about. Snoring is fine -- best dog I ever owned was a Boston -- but they do tend to have more health issues than other dogs.

Whatever breed I get has to be under 25 pounds and it'd be nice if it didn't shed much.

I'd have a chimp if they let me.lol Only critters allowed with my company are dogs, tho. I will look into Pomeranians -- thanks!Rideandrepair and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this.
