Hello again everyone. I wil be leaving for school next Sunday for training at the C1 truck driver school in Springfild. I would like to hear from Graduates of the school, passed, recent, or who will be in my class. To get a heads up on it. I have read the CDl Maual for months now and dont even exspect to miss a question let alone fail. I want to know how much time we will get in a truck? Will we always have to be with a trainer? Or can we spend are off time on the range? CAn we request extra time with a trainer? Guess what i'm asking is can i spend all the time i want in the truck? I have no plans but to sleep and drive for the 3 weeks!! I want to learn as much as possible, so I can spend the minimum time with a trainer on the road. They say four to six weeks, is that up to me if I feel I'm up to going alone or is it up to the trainer? Unless the trainer is pretty I really don't want to spend six weeks living with a guy,lol... But I am sure it wouldn't hurt either way.. Can we request a smoker as a trainer? I'm paying 1000's, so i wouldn't think that was alot to ask...

To the old timers, not meant to be an insult, lol. Are these fare scales for pay?

    After completion of the CDL
training, you will start at 26¢
per mile as a solo driver. With
    3 months of solo experience,
you will earn 27¢ per mile. At
    6 months, you’ll earn 30¢ per
mile and with 1 year of solo
    experience, you’ll earn 34¢/
    mile.

To recent USA truckers, is this what I should exspect? Or is it just hype? It says it depends on how hard I'm willing to work, well to say the least I'll be upset if i cant get my 70 hours, I have no place i call home and want to make as much as possible, so can i exspect 2800??

You can expect to run an average
of 2,500 to 2,800 miles per week.
Some weeks it may be a little
more and some weeks it may be
a little less. It will also depend
on how hard you are willing to
    work. Unloaded or “deadhead”
miles are paid at the same rate
    as loaded miles.

    Does this sound fair??

During the 4 to 6 week OTR
training period, you will be paid
a salary of $350 per week.
    After all training is completed,
you will go on mileage pay as
    a first seat driver.
    As a first-year driver, you
can expect to earn up to
    $40,000. In your second
year, you can expect to make
    approximately $3,000 to
    $5,000 more because your
mileage pay rate goes up as
    you gain seniority.

Well thank you for your time and i will be checking back offten for your replys. I hope to be on the road this time next month:icon_smile:
