Swift owns their own Mexican carrier. Most carriers do not go much past the border. The goods are either cross docked or the trailers are dropped. I doubt any driver from the US would enjoy the Mexican roads and the lack of facilities at truck stops. For many language would be a barrier. Mexican drivers get less than half of what most US drivers earn.

i wish i could cross the border with the company i work for. We usually use brokers. We take the freight to customs, they inspect it and sign the paperwork, and then we drop it at the broker's yard, so their drivers cross it. I would enjoy driving in mexico with my pay in the us

You would not enjoy trucking in Mexico. Narrow rough roads, no real truck stops. Many areas where it is unsafe to stop. But the scenery and the different culture can be great,

I am from mexico, i am not concern about the roads, I believe corruption in all government levels would be a concern though. cops pull everybody over to get some money from you even if you haven't broken the law. that would be a big issue though!

Any truckers know if ULSD is available in Mexico, have a 2014 ECO-Diesel 1500 dodge and we are travelling to the Yucatan in Jan 2015, have done this many times with no incidents but not in a diesel. Any help would be appreciated. or does any one know of any trucking companies that dive MX.

Really Brucesmith? And what part of Mexico would you be referring to? PEMEX has excellent truck stops and the roads are first class, at least the ones you would travel between major cities.

Rick: There may be some ULSD close to the border. Otherwise you are out of luck. Mexico trucker. Are you telling me that hwy 15 from Nogales to Obregon is first class? lots of potholes. Road without shoulder, sides of road eaten away to where it is a foot narrower. Now tell me about the excellent truck stops on that same road. Some with no showers, many with only cold water in the bathroom and no soap, towels or paper. No restaurant. And FILTHY! Do you call that excellent? There are some good truck stops but still nothing like SOB. Why are you always telling us things that are untrue! As for other than toll roads there are very few good ones and many that are bordering on being dangerous. If there are so many great TS's why do most of the truckers end up parking near an Oxxo or some Taco stand? You live in a fairy tale.
Another Canadian driver, izifaddag and MadeinMX Thank this. -
No, that's not what I am saying at all Brucesmith and I am not familiar with MX-15... What I am saying is you cannot generalize one highway as indicative of the rest of the countries infrastructure.....
They park near a taco stand or an OXXO because that is usually what is attached or on the property of the PEMEX truck stops, at least in my part of the country.
Every toll road I've been on in Mexico has been excellent and I've traveled many times between Nuevo Laredo and Mexico City, Celaya on Mx-57 which is a combination of tolls and free roads. Also from Reynosa to Monterrey which is an excellent highway.Canadianhauler21, BennysPennys, Another Canadian driver and 3 others Thank this.
