Alright, just finished 1st day at Joplin. Not quite what I expected. Two people were sent home because they could not pass the backing test in time. Company is very strick on rules and regulations. Alot of paperwork today, backing test, and dot physical. Tomorrow is road test and more paperwork. Very hot outside today during backing test. Very nice and up to date terminal. Talked to a few drivers and all seem very happy. We'll see what the rest of the week brings.

 

If anyone is thinking about putting a application in with con-way be very honest. Lists all of your accidents and tickets. When you do your phone interview be sure and be completely honest. Even if you don't remember the exact dates tell them or write them down with a question mark beside them. If con-way feels you have been dishonest or you have tried to conceal information from them they will send you home. They are very very strict.

 

Arkpoboy64, I'm in the same group as your son, he really knows his stuff shifting right. What do you mean the took to long to back? Its timed?

 

Yes, you have 15 minutes to do a 45* back.

If you are at Crowder right now you should be fine, you won't make it through Crowder unless they are sure you are ready for Con-Way.

 

Thanks katey, if I'm at crowder what other test will I have to do once I'm done with my finisher?

 

Witeboy07 just listen to Katey she knows way more than me. Glad to here my son is doing good. Hello Ms. Katey glad u r back hope u had fun. Got thru Tuesday. Another long day. Road test was completed today and a lot more paperwork. Nothing out of the ordinary happen today. I did talk to a few more drivers and the story is the same. Everyone is happy. Didn't here any complaints.

 

Well I went to school at Crowder so I didn't attend boot camp. Mitrucker and Xlsdraw and some other guys I know did though. I believe all your "tests" are done at Crowder and if you make it through there you just go back to Con-way on monday for paperwork and such.

 

Does Con-Way offer tuition reimbursement for recent grads??

 

i don't think so but they do pay you for boot camp training i believe. the others should have more info on that. talk to a recruiter yet?

 

can some one tell me with new e-log, Let said, average is 2800 miles a wks. With e-log, are they little better, little lower r the same? assume u know how to plant your trip well , know e-log system and of crse, not bein lazy.
