I'd talk to Katey her and her boyfriend are a team with TL, she could answer alot of questions for you. I saw she posted on the "What you 20" thread

Your situation sounds alot like ours. My boyfriend had close to 4 years when I went through school and we are now teaming for CTL.

    We really love it.

If you can afford for her to go through Crowder and come straight on to Con-way it is a great experience. Crowder is a very good school and CTL is a great company to work for.

Feel free to PM me or post here any questions you have and I will do my best to answer :)

My GF is gonna go to TDDS over here in Ohio near us on weekends since we can't afford for her to be not working for weeks while she goes to school plus pay for school. It's a fully accredited school and she is getting a fasfa student loan for it like I did 4 years ago. She will just have to go to boot camp since she didn't go through crowder right?
Also is there a way conway would let me be her finisher? That would be cool, but if not oh well. I actually have a buddy I went to TDDS with who drove team then solo for truckload for almost 2 years so that's why I'm putting them at the top of my list. He left because he knocked up his wife and wanted a local job at that point. He told me if he wanted to be on the road still be would go back.
If you request a certain truck what's the chances you will get it? I hate the cascadias so I'm hoping we can get a pro star.

Thanks for all the good info.

Your experience at truckload is all you'll take to Conway Freight.Saw it on the employee portal. You come to freight and you will be at the bottom of the flex board like every other swinging dick. LTL is all about seniority. Unless you luck out and go to a terminal and land a bid run which is not impossible but pretty tough to do.

Only good thing is if you dont work, you sit at home instead of some truckstop far away from home. Its not for everyone especially if you have to meet alot of financial obligations as the start time and the number of hours you work vary every day. But if you wind up at a decent terminal and you can hang tight for a little bit, it will pay off in the end.

Thanks everyone for posting great info and advice here. I applied via Con-Way's web site yesterday. Hopefully I will be able to go to Crowder. How long does it take for them to get back to you or should I call and bug a recruiter? I did call a recruiter on Monday and he said to just apply on web site.

Personally, I'd give em a couple days, But for sure if they have not called me, I'd call them Thurs or Fri.

I can only speak to my experience but I applied online over a weekend and I had a call the next Monday morning. Like Mustang970 said, I would give it a short time then call them, It won’t hurt. I realize recruiters are typically equated to salesman but you will not be disappointed with Christine or Keturah. In fact, if you do end up calling just ask for either one them.
