Better a scrub, than a scab, I reckon.

I dont know about scabs, but I have a trailer with a bent bent pin on the tandem, bruised the hell out of my arm earlier.

Ouch, yeah these old and even refurbished trailers are just lacking. New trailers are needed.
Again, back in the day, we wouldn't have had 10+ year old trailers, not trucks with 500,000+ miles.

Did that twice in two days in the exact same spot on my arm. Assuming that you have a trailer with Hendrickson suspension (a straight metal bar that you raise in order to slide the tandems), get yourself a 12" bungee cord and put it around the handle to release the pins and then hook it to the bottom of the trailer floor (it will be stretched about as far as it can go, in a "V" shape), then go back and rock the truck, and the pins will release. Then go and take the strap off and move the handle all the way up so you can slide your tandems. It's a whole lot less painful this way.

Trucker I HAD a couple of bungees for that purpose, need to replace them. The 2nd one actually broke the day I had this incident with my arm.
