I have a relative that works part time at a local truck stop. When I mentioned that I had a "hiring approval" from Con-Way, she said that there had been two drivers in the truck stop that morning.

She commented on their "crisp uniforms" and how "sharp" and "professional looking" they were, especially in comparison to most of the other truck drivers she sees come in.

So, my question is this, does Con-Way TL have uniforms?

If so, are they optional or mandatory?

BTW, I don't have a problem either way, I proudly wore my country's uniform for a about a decade. :biggrin_25525: And would proudly wear Con-Way's as well.

And a follow on question. If they do have them, how do the drivers get fresh uniforms when they're out on the road?

    Just curious! :biggrin_25525:

Truckload does not have uniforms, Freight does. There is plenty of CWTL apparell you can buy, and look nice and "company", but it's out of your pocket. They will give you one hat. People often confuse the Freight side and the Truckload side; same blanket corporation with three sub companies.....Con-Way Truckload, Con-Way Freight, and Menlo Logistics.

    p.s. Thanks for your service.

Thanks. I'll bet it was the Freight guys. They have a terminal in a nearby town, and I see their daycab trucks all over. So, I bet it was Freight.

As for my service, you're welcome. My service was far less significant than that of many others, but I was proud to serve "Any Time, Any Place". :biggrin_2559:

Depends really, yes & no,if its a major time thing they will send you home, otherwise you "can" get 60 per after 48 hrs in shop, depends on your fleet mgr, they have no set policy for it really as in "Break Down pay"

    NHL_fan Thanks this.

I don't work at either but... Crete 62 mph out 21 days off for three in my area... Conway, 65 mph out 14-17 and home for 2-3 in my area. Pay is similar for my experience level, benefits I don't know about. Me... I'm leaning towards Conway after the new year. I have a friend that just started there before thanksgiving and LOVES it!!!

Just my 2 cents from recruiter and driver interaction...
