Ok so I have come up with a plan and not sure how good it is. I am looking at going with conway truckload for a year then trying to transfer to a LTL local position. Is the money and benefits good at conway? How long are you out for at a time? Apus on the trucks?

:biggrin_25521:I am interested in Conway but I guess this question can go for any company. I put in my two weeks with a Trash Company I drove for last year but ended up walking out after a couple days. Will this hurt my chances of getting hired on or will they not even say anything about it?

    No apu's
Time off is 1 day off for every 7 out.
Best plan is just apply at freight if your desire is to end up there.
They operate as complete different companies. Your vacation seniority nothing transfer s over. Might as well just start there and stay there.
When it comes to Truckloads place, it's the proverbial redhead stepchild. No offense to redheads or stepchildren.

My wife and I team (we've been running together for 10 months now with CRST temp control division), we're going to Phoenix for orientation on July 15th. Question the recruiter has told me that not being able to go to Canada is ok. Is this true I really don't feel like wasting time if that isn't true.

My other question is will they allow me to guide her when she does the backing portion of the drive test (she's used to having me do that)

Thanks in advanced for any and all replies

God I hope they don't hire you

Last thing I need is another h&w team that stay up as partners afraid to back cutting into my miles

But to give you an answer
Say you aren't allowed into Canada or are unable to obtain a passport.
    And simply.... no.

You won't be able to guide her back, but the backing test (in Phoenix) is as easy as you'll ever have. Set up for a 45 (or 90), back the trailer in the general vicinity of the hole, and then pull up as far as you need to straight-line back in. You have 15 minutes & have to GOAL 3 or 5 times (making sure to use 3 points of contact).

I was the only one (out of 8-10) with my passport -- there is no pressure to get one...

One bit of advice: When you go to the clinic to get your drug screen, grab a face mask from the counter. You have to sit in that waiting room for 4 hours without leaving & there will probably be a room full of sick people coughing. Oh and enjoy the lunches!
