Any bets on how long this will last?

Rubber mallet and strap the nubs. Should be fine until you can get more hoses. Remember to inspect your hoses next time and bring extras if you can.

I'm guessing not very long until you can find a way to lock it on there.

Just wrap a ratchet strap around it and back to the frame and then ratchet it up tight.
Problem solved till you can get it taken care of.

It's not that hard to change the ears. Find an old hose, knock the keeper pin out out of the ear with a hammer and a punch, take the good ear and put it on.

What you're doing now isn't smart.

No word from the OP? He either got away with it or he's still out there with a shovel and a broom and a water hose washing down everything down wind from the truck. SMH

I was saved when the blower quit working on my truck halfway through the second hopper. Got to go home early while they worked on it and got me a new hose with some new fittings. Blower still keeps shutting off now though.

One of the major downsides of not working for a mega carrier I guess, is the equipment ain’t exactly new.

    Lepton1 and Zeviander Thank this.

I work for a company of about 80 trucks and they just bought 3 brand new 389's, with 3 more coming in spring. :p

We have 18 trucks on the road, all gliders. The oldest is a 2004 Freightshaker Classics, and the last six that were bought in the past three years are Western Star 4900ex's. Three of which are still being built. Most of our trailers are 2010 or newer.

By comparison, the last outfit I worked for pulling tanks had 200 trucks, mostly no more than three years old at the time, and always in the shop, or on a wrecker going to the shop. And don't even get me started on those trailers...

Fairly obvious that op has no clue or he would have pulled the gaskets and cleaned them before this, also I have a rule about how and where you use a hammer, rubber malelts and a can of wd40 or water with dish soap works well. Now they need to be changed, but they are certainly usable. tap them down after you clean the fittings before or you will be sweeping and shoveling a long time

OP...carry a couple of extra ears and pins with you. The pins are for when you knock out an old one and it does the "magic pin disappearing act" in the gravel. Having some extras saves a lot of aggravation.
He might be paying a big fine too if he coats other areas and buildings and cars with dust.
California is especially bad about citing people for stuff like that.
So...resist the temptation to add a little air and make the bag house take off like a Saturn rocket.

Lepton1, Powder Joints and RedRover Thank this.
