Our sleepers have stick shifts and we have Pete and Volvo day cabs that have automatics. After 38 years of shifting gears I have to say that I absolutely love my auto shift Volvo.BCV Thanks this. -

We have automatic star cars. And possibly a auto pete or two some time in the near future

We have been Automated T2, Auto-shift, Meritor Freedlom, Allison, Ultrashift, Ultrashift plus, and now DT-12, went all automated in 2002.

When i go to cottrell and check out the trucks you maybe see 1 auto out of 20 my guess is the main reason you probably get .5- .7 less miles per gallon . The clutch in an auto should be good 450k range, clutch replacement cost is a little higher depending.
Almost every driver loves them, i am not sure what the price difference of the auto vs. manual is my guess is around10k . I have almost 600k on mine with one clutch charge and a $89 shift module.Last edited: Jun 9, 2019
