I just started with New Line Carriers out of Chicago. So far they are pretty good. They only take 12% share. I've been on paper for a week waiting to get ELD installed. They have a driver with a Glider so they might be fine.

A van company that allows you to run paper? That's like finding a needle in a haystack.

I'm 66 years old and started driving for my father's trucking company at 16 years old so your right I haven't been driving since 75 my bad it's more like 69. I run out of north county San Diego and pass-through the banning scales here in So Cal at least twice a month (One of the hardest in the country) and it's just not worth the headache to try and be a dinosaur and guess what if you don't rip out the old sheets they will go back as far as they can and try and nail your ###. If they find anything they will search your truck for old logs too. Ya you can be Rambo and ##### like hell but it won't stop them from citing you and you still have to go to court and lose for not being compliant. Been there done that The ELD's here to stay.

I have my own authority and 90% of the time OTR I can run over 70 mph with an avg of 58 which is close to 500 plus a day or 3500 a week, 14K a month or 168K a year unrealistic yes but possible. I hardly ever run 70 mph I do only on the slow days :). I can run coast to coast and back without taking a 34 in some poophole eating hotdogs.

I'm on paper now, have been for a long time and will continue to be. Just because you like the ELD doesn't mean we all do.

I don't like being monitored with ELD or paper, That wasn't what I was meaning at all. FMCSA wants 100% control of all commercial trucking industry and they have a lot of money by lobbyists to keep pushing, applying pressure and bribing bleeding heart liberal politicians. Stomping your feet in the mud thinking your going to run paper forever will only go so far. Dollars to doughnuts paper logs are gone and in the very near future, the feds will mandate 100% compliance and pull the authority from any company that is out of compliance. Making a driver not willing to use an ELD hunting for the last mud hole. The typewriter and the beeper had a better chance than the paper logs do.

Do you run actually paper, like loose leaf or do you run a "paper log" on a laptop?
