Let me spell it out for you.
Take a NJ to Cali trip. You arrive on friday, reload and head back to NJ. When you get to Colorado, you are out of hours. However now you didn't go to California... in fact your head written BOL says you picked up in Aspen. Lots of hours left to get back to NJ
