I got my CDL in 2019, and in total have about 6 months solo experience. Due to a injury from a not at fault accident, I stopped driving and worked from home. Since I never self certified as exempt from DOT medical card, and it was expired over a year, I lost my CDL and currently in a CDL school that is 5 weeks long. Also learning in a 10 speed, since before I had a automatic restriction on my license.
Once I get my CDL again, I want to do OTR for awhile before doing local. However, I just can't do the team driving stuff again. I literally cannot get a full nights sleep when team driving and just always miserable and tired. I know it makes me sound like a sissy, but I literally despise it. I am a loner type person who likes my personal space as well. I really want to find a company that will test me out immediately after orientation or at least as little team driving as humanly possible. It has been a little while since I was solo, but going to school again, I feel comfortable driving and breezing through this course.
Does anyone know any companies that would be a good fit for me and have me for as little time as possible with a trainer? I have a spotless driving and criminal record. I only have 1 accident and it was a nonpreventable not at fault collision in my personal vehicle (Was rear ended hard).
A few people I know offered one of those shady 1099 drive their equipment, employee but not an employee jobs. But I want to avoid that at all costs. Not worth the headaches doing that shady business stuff. But if its either do that to get my experience again, or team drive for a month, I may very well do it.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Any companies that would just test me out and put me solo if its been a bit since I drove?
