Three weeks ago I did 2,700 miles in a 5 day week, would have done 3,100 but I slacked off on Friday. Two weeks ago I did 2,640 in a 5 day week, again I slacked off on Friday

I frequently run 6 days, still get my 34 reset, just have to start Monday at 5am insted of midnight. Run 535 mile everyday, same route, kind of boring, but home everynight except for breakdowns of plants or eq.

Striker, you don't say what your truck is governed at, where you were running or how long your runs were. Our trucks are governed at 71 and in Kentucky I run the speed limit--70. So the miles add up--but we're paid on percentage. Miles don't really matter. (We run out of Indy and back to Indy, some triangles, too.) At 2700 miles in 5 days, you did 540/day on average.

When I drove for Gordon (forced dispatch) in a Gordon truck governed at 61/63 (cruise off/on) and mostly stinker loads 300 miles and under, I certainly wouldn't see that. I had a Pontoon Beach/Clackamas 2000-mile run but that wasn't the norm. So your loads and your truck make a big difference. Determinative, in fact.

Ha-ha. Yeah, we have 3-hole, loose-leaf logs... My logs are pretty perfect, too!

I guess the title of this thread should have specified a 5 day work week and dedicated routes. You would need 70+ mph trucks and perfect conditions everyday to run 3k every week with a 5 day work week even before rule changes (legally that is and not just on paper). But that is why the fmcsa keeps making rule changes is because drivers keep figuring out ways to bend if not break them... as for me I also drive a slow truck for Gordon but I stay out 4 weeks at a time and always average 3k a week after driving 4. Take now for instance. . I have been out 24 days with 11, 241 miles and 1 night of breakdown pay for a trailer I picked up. I have not taken any resets since leaving the house. Never do unless completely out of hours. As you can see I am not killing myself just trying to run consistent.

Not really, though the 70 mph truck would make it easier. Much of it has to do with how the dedicated run is set up so you can avoid rush hour in major cities and, what the route is. Running through Toronto is always iffy because there's only 1 major highway but Chicago has several ways through.

With my 3,400 mile per week run, the only major city I had to deal with was Houston (no one in Detroit can afford a car) and, compared to running I-80, I-90 or Canada, the weather was usually good.

I can see the dedicated routes but not with an irregular route carrier and 5 day work weeks tho'. I really don't see how.

I agree 100%. I've done it years ago hauling seafood & produce coast to coast in an ungoverned truck but there wasn't much legal about those runs. Given the 5-day work week, it's almost impossible to do legally, especially if you have to make a pick & drop every day.

70 hours X 60 mph truck is 4200 miles. i don't care what anyone says. NO ONE is driving 4200 miles. LEGALLY. that's all there is too it. 75 mph trucks MAYBE.

there isn't ANY truck that can drive 4200 miles without fueling. and if you can drive that many hours with peeing, pooping, eating, sleeping, OR SHOWERS. then your god.

now, let's add the mountains, traffic lights. deliveries and pickups. cuz i highly doubt you picked up your load in alaska and it's going to miami florida.

it's 3455 miles from vancouver canada to miami. 3412 from san diego cali to new brunswick canada.
