I would say that the opposite is happening. The driver I had chose just took another job tonight. Apparently "meet you tomorrow morning" means "I'm taking the job in case my other applications don't get picked up." He got a call, I guess. Here kitty kitty kitty.... find a new driver. Hence, despite "filling the seat" unofficially, I knew better then to say the job is not available. Things happen, and there is no reason to say I'm the boy that cried wolf because 3 or 4 of the 29 (and counting...) applicants are huddled in this thread. I'm sorry, there is only one seat available. Most people would not call it an experiment if only one driver gets the job. I no longer can accept a team.

Because of the fact that my truck was abandoned and left for dead in an undisclosed location, while burning thousands- yes thousands in fuel before officially quitting...right after paying $3500 in sales tax and registration fees, and $3,500 in repairs over 2 months, stealing $430 from the fuel card, I can't write any outrageous checks.

My company needs a driver that can drive for $250/week for up to 8 weeks. After that, $1,000+/week pay is expected, based on a 20% of Gross Pay Scale.

Much has changed over the last week that the job was first offered, and I'm either finding a driver who can tough it out with me after being wronged by an unscrupulous employee, or the job disappears. There will be no false promises, this is all I can guarantee: A stable, weekly paycheck with no excuses. My number can be left on speed dial to answer your every beck and whim out on the road. You'll actually have the owner of the truck in your corner, rather than some recruiter that gets a commission with every driver being replaced. Job security. You won't be "laid off due to budget cuts" or held back via DAC from pursuing other companies. I'm honest, and that might be a problem because there are all too many companies making a killing decieving drivers into scam lease options and phony "high mileage" plans that go bunk. If you want something real, and your sick and tired of being strung along as a number in a corporate game, give me a call.

I have no problem letting the payments slide and giving the truck to the bank. The real shame is if there is a driver that would benefit from the job, that they might not speak up. Hopefully, I find an honest driver who just needs a fresh start. Those of us who are of little means need to be honest with ourselves as we collect our unemployment checks. We can pull ourselves up by the bootstraps, or we can pray that there is someone greater who will do things for us that we simply refuse to do for ourselves.

Hey Jason I've been self employed for over 20 years and I have yet to collect an unemployment check. Did'nt mean to step on your toes, I thought that you had said 600 per week. I know what you're going through about hiring an honest person, been there done that. Do I not have enough time behind the wheel or has it just been to long since I've driven? I don't think you stepped on my toes. I just wanted to make sure others would not throw their arms up because of a wild speculation. I'm sure you understand my position. I could have the best driver come into the thread, hear that it is a scam...and leave. I'm just covering my butt.

As for your credentials, I don't remember seeing anything that made me doubt you. I remember that you were qualified and I am still considering all applications. Keep in mind, I am getting about 10 per day now. I'm just trying to find the best person for me. My situations is not the same as Swift or JB Hunt. The opportunity is very different from "$0.27/mile...take it or leave it..." and therefore I need to consider many types of candidates.

To all interested drivers: If I haven't called you yet it doesn't mean I'm not interested.

The job is for hauling a bottom hopper to move grains and various farm products. The base is anywhere you want to park the truck and home time is dependant on where you live. California and New England states will be difficult to get home time. Many areas will give you every weekend off on average. Midwest and South are the areas run, but loads can go anywhere. Flexibility is key, as the paychecks are dictated by your ability to get the best paying loads. I will take care of the loads for some time, but eventually the 8 weeks will be up and you will make all of your own decisions. I will always be one phone call away for any of your needs. Paychecks are never late and they will never be short.

Jason what ever happened to ( a man is only as good as his word) the driver that stuck your truck in the middle of nowhere is a dick. I will not ask for anything except for a good truck a good trailor and a .................. there has to be a happy median to all of this such as 10% for x 12% for x 14% get my drift.

I'm not going to dwell on the past, waybrot. We all need to look to the future now. What goes around comes around. I think DAC reports tend to be unfair, but this is the very scenario that they were created for.

I catch your drift. I remind myself of that as I go along.

I beginning to find this entire thread rather disturbing.

Although it has been a glowing example that explains why our industry is what it is, and why most companies treat drivers so poorly.

My suggestion: This thread in it's entirety be pinned to the "Questions From New Drivers". It would dispel many of the lies, half truths, and misdirection spoon fed incoming drivers by recruiters and companies.

This thread is not only about the companies, it is about those drivers who would help those companies further their mistreatment of all drivers in general.

There is only ONE word to describe these actions, methods, and outcome.

Desperation.

well im a smoker unfortunatly....and i live in middle ga,but rarely want to take 4 days off....heck im out of work now injured, and hate it ........although i smoke i kept a really clean truck....
