You put 34k into it and then got rid of it?

I was just looking at my maintenance numbers this morning. I bought new truck December 1st 2015. I'm at at 4.5 cpm and that includes new Michelin XDN2 supers I put on the truck after the first year.

The Bridgestone drives it had were crap.

That 4.5 cpm includes all the standard B service etc.

The warranty is a 500k pretty comprehensive one that includes the emissions stuff.

With a $1745 dollar a month payment, tremendous fuel economy and low maintenance cost for the first few years, not to mention the depreciation benefit, it's hard for me to see how keeping an older truck prone to breaking down, would of been personally beneficial.

Volvo 670 with I-Shift, 7.4 mpg. I pull my own 53' dry van by choice on the west coast I-5 corridor only.

I'm very content doing what I'm doing as an owner op with my authority. I could never see myself going back to work as a company guy or to even lease on to another companies authority.

Yup sure did it was a used truck to start with from primes fleet. Badly maintained. I fixed a lot of what was wrong but I knew it would need an overhaul soon so got rid of it.

So I take it you didn't check over it from the start?

Ahhh, I was thinking it went bad on you from the start. What was the purchase price of the old Prime truck?

Bought it for 61k was 4 years old at the time had a tripac on it with low idle hours on it according to the ecm. Did good for 2 years and then started to go to ####. I had the rod and main bearings dose at cummins in Fontana. When they rolled the bearings for #2 they knocked off the oil jet and never said any thing about it. Got half way to Phoenix befor it took a crap on me. They paid for the repair but never trusted the motor after that.

I'm currently looking at something similar. A used fleet truck for $62k Peterbilt that has a APU but it doesn't start... I guess when I get the ECM readout I can gauge how long it has/or hasn't been working...
