It's that time of year again in the South. Spend 3 hours driving after sunset and you end up peppered with bugs of every kind, some that I'm not sure might actually ding the finish with their hard shell. The bugs we're currently dealing with in Texas are difficult to power wash off. I've tried a few different "bug cleaners" in the past but neither seemed to work as advertised. (I forget what they were).

Does anyone know of a bug solvent that works reasonably well to use prior to pressure washing, and where did you find it? Also, is there any recommended prophylactic approach to making bugs be easier to get off without having to practically grind them off? I suppose the right "wax" might help?

    Thanks

Better get it figured out soon if you run the north east. This is the year for the 17 year locusts. Supposed to arrive the month of may. Oh what a joy they are.

I'd like something that you could spray and allow to work and it would foam up and remain in place and work and not run off or evaporate in 2 minutes. The "bug cleaner" products in retail stores I'm familiar with are supposed to have some sort of enzyme that breaks down the dried up bug guts but they don't seem to work well except on the smaller, less potent bug juices ... the ones that would come off with a good pressure wash.

My experience has taught me that a good springtime thunderstorm usually does the trick...unless it's love bugs. #### love bugs.

How does that work on the rest of the truck when you are trying to wash it?
