I usually travel i40 from Southern California on a reefer to southeast. Looking for a fireworks store that had truck parking so I can have fun on the 4th when I go home.

Phantom Fireworks is Trucker Friendly; we have a few here in Ohio, even one locally by the House. I go every year, and they are running some great deals this week. Just google Phantom Fireworks, and click on Cali, or whatever state you'll wanna stop in. Be safe!

^^^^^ Oh crap; I forgot it's illegal in the rig, unless on your BOL. I'm home daily and weekends, don't worry much about that stuff anymore. Good lookin' out, @truckthatpassesyouby . My Bad. Very.

ps: unless he were to park, purchase, and UPS them home~

Or just drive right and get them home just fine. Unless you are doing something really stupid, DOT ain't looking for fireworks.

I would call the state lines, if, ok..
Buy them, keep weight under placard limit, put them in a safe container, secure them. Carry your haz book. Make a dumby bol. Carry receipt. Indicate it's for personal use.

Unless something goes horribly wrong, like someone hitting him hard enough, then there's an accident scene with fireworks spilling out of his truck (oh, and at that point, you hope there isn't a fire involved).

Would he sign as the shipper? And what would he use as the 24 hour emergency contact number? I'm a fan of fireworks, but this is more trouble than its worth.

    Sounds good to me.

Fireworks are class 1.4G, which is table 2. Placard limit will be north of 2000 lbs, which is a LOT for personal use.

No, because he isn't the shipper. He's buying them from the shipper.

I'd imagine this place also ships these, so they could probably give him the emergency contact info.[/QUOTE]
