Hi all, I just ended a lease with a carrier and looking into options. I figured now is the time to consider everything before making a move. I've narrowed it down to another lease that appears to present some good numbers and with a reputable carrier. The other is under my own authority but with the benefits of leasing on as in they book loads for me and take care of the billing and pay every week eliminating a lot of the headaches of running under my own authority. 90% of the load that avarage 2.10 -2.50 a mile, lease to own a new trailer from them, 50 discount tire program, their shop at a rate of $60 an hour. Seems pretty solid.
These are both dry van and I got to thinking today. I have my tanker and hazmat and pulled food grade for a shady carrier a year or so ago. I liked the industry and caught on quickly to pulling food grade tanker. I thought I should give this some consideration as well while a change is in order for me. I'd like this to be the last change.
Anyone point me in the right direction as to good places to lease on or even run under my own authority for? I do have my own authority now but I'm not limiting myself in that regard. Thanks

Well as an O/O you can forget food grade and go chemicals. Most of the big cos offer go revenue streams paying 62-70% of revenue as a % plus 100% FSC. Leasing on of course is the way to go. I've heard you could have your own authority and haul chemicals but I think that's a tad risky because of the fact the load could be rejected. Then what !!??
Chemicals will always pay better than FG. I'm sure you know that already. It's just a matter of picking the right outfit for you.
I worked for IRT many yrs ago as a co driver. Enjoyed it but could never make good money despite running hard. And the best part is that you don't have to mess with lumbers and all of those headaches.
    Good luck

    generallee Thanks this.
