Yeah you should be tax exempt it's one of the only advantages you get as an o/o. They will not offer this to you. You need to bring it up and give them your tax ID number.

    Cetane+ Thanks this.

I just had some work done on my trailer at Mac's service center in OH. They had me fill out a form with the carrier's DOT # and I was able to avoid state tax.

Yes the XZA3+ is an awesome tire at any price.

I never knew of that form for interstate commerce vehicles. Thanks. I will visit those folks next week.

I always knew of a sales tax exemption for resellers/wholesalers that I wasn't eligible for.

EDIT: I believe that form is for use at the time of sale/purchase of a motor vehicle or trailer used in interstate commerce. Like when I bought my new trailer.
Here's a clue: "This application for exemption must be prepared and executed in triplicate by the dealer/seller and purchaser at the time of the sale of the motor vehicle or trailer"

Pretty sure it's not for ongoing parts purchases over time. I have given DOT number in Indiana for example, to avoid sales tax on parts bought there. They don't do that here in TN. Sales tax is their main source of income. We have no personal income tax.

Other than the reseller exemption the only other one is the farm sales tax exemption number.

i've also purchased the michellin xda3+ steers through England tire discount program. Paid about $950 and mounted them myself. Even the private brand tires couldn't beat that price on steer tires and i wasn't about to get Chinese tires (which weren't that much cheaper anyways).
