I recently spoke with a 'Prime" driver.
His company was taken over by Prime. He still has the original name on his truck, but pulls only Prime trailers.
He now has a camera in his truck, was slowed to below Swift speed, and hates every minute of it.

Starting as a lease operator (NOT owner) that early is a sure way of ending up broke and in a ditch somewhere.

Is that hear say like from your friend's cousin's brother's father's co-worker's high school's best friend? Don't know about CREngland and there program but I would never recommend someone to go into slavery there.

At Prime you are a company driver unless you decide to lease. The training pay is $700/week. Once you get your own truck it's $.43/mi in the lightweight trucks. Not sure where you "read" or "heard" that other nonsense. Even just a quick casual read of the Prime threads on here would tell you that was wrong info.

Prime doesn't have cameras in there trucks so you must have been talking to some other driver from another company. Nice try through. And all the company trucks are governed at 62mph and the lease guys are governed at 65mph. Just most of us drive slower then that because of the fuel bonus we get every week. Most company drivers can avereage an extra $.03/mi with the fuel bonus.

Have you tride looking at commuity colleges for training? Usually there programs are good and don't take 14 weeks. I know there are other threads on here where people have asked the same question. Do a search and you'll find a lot of good posts. Plus chinatown is very knowledgable on what's out there, if he says TMC is a good choice for flatbad I would check them out.

Tmc is sitting as my top choice right now. There pay package seems ok. 1000 a week guaranteed for first 8 weeks once u get ur truck. Then 26% after that up to 32% depending on how i drive. Plus 500 a week whike in training. Just need to find a place to get my cdl.

It wasn't a 'nice try', it was what I was told by a driver with a Prime trailer hooked up.
And I did say that he was from a company that Prime bought out. Maybe it is different with them?

Here's a company in Kansas you might like and it's OTR.
    Girton Propane Service
You'll have to attend a CDL school though since they don't have their own CDL program. They do hire new CDL grads.

Shlumberger or Halliburton. Both are oilfield service company's. I went with Shlumberger and probably is the best heavy vehicle training you can get in the world. Good luck getting hired nowadays with the way oil prices are. The training is free and no contract or anything that forces you to stay after you get your CDL.
