Are there? I'm in a private CDL school in the northeast. It seems Werner is often soliciting from the school. I saw a similar post from 2008 but figured I'd seek current info.
Most of the stuff regarding company satisfaction on here is quite poor. But thats to be expected... we will offer up more ####### than praise. Human nature kinda thing.
Anyway, tell me some good stuff about Werner! And the bad, if you're so inclined...

Sounds like they are STILL trying to get folks for the Jenweld dedicated window account....
They do a hard sell...make it sound ok...
Had a frend who went there on a dedicated account with 6 months experance...the deal sounded too good to be true...new truck, dedicated, 1 yr pay, home 2-3 times a week...
The reality, new truck was junk...kept getting them trying to make him lease.
Then trying to make him a trainer...then preasurr to use line 5, personal convoyance to do delivery outside of hos...it went on and on for a few weeks..
The best company to work for is the one who will give you a job, but do not believe what a recuiter tells you...it... -
Werner has its issues, some worse then others i belive. Miles right now for solo's suck. Im talking like 1700 a week on average. They are switching to more of a regional company then an otr one. Problem is, they are not paying the drivers regional pay. So, one day you might do 500 miles, and the next 300 miles. Alot of shags, and alot of picking up running two hundred miles and dropping it at a drop yard so the netops guys can run it. The equipment for the most part is decent. If its broke, they are going to fix. They are really strict on there csa points. If you get a moving violation, seatbelt tickets or running a stop signal you will be auto fired. Oh, and as for the school tutation payback, rembers it will take like 5 years working here to pay it back.

Have not heard to much good or bad about them. Do some research, I did and I choose to go with Western Express because it's terminal is easier to get to for me, and the pay was a little better.I am going to meet my trainer in an hour or two.Wish you the best on your choice.

Just stop and think here for a minute. You pay good money for school and invest your time and all you see as far as companies go are the ones that go out and seek drivers. Why do you think they have a permanent position for someone to go out a find drivers?
The industry may be bad but I don't believe it's gotten to the point to where you must go where they say. It boils down to how much time and energy you want to put into job hunting. Nobody can stop you from going out on your own to find employment. Not all companies are restricted to hire experience drivers. Get out and find the one you like but just make sure you look at all the options a company has. The more research you do the better off you'll be. Just my 2¢.dirtyjerz Thanks this. -
