this! or one side is jerky, or the handle has to move farther to make one track move...man. I've had some real gems to load

By the same token I've seen some pretty good operators get all pale and trembly when you ask them if they want to load their own machine. LOL..."nah, you go ahead Terry. I'll help you tie it down".
Our regular lowbed guys almost always load themselves. They say the operators make too much of a production out of the whole thing.

Caveat...I'm not a full time lowbed driver like you guys. I've run them off and on for quite a few years but never for more than five or six months at a time.
I've never hauled any of those super loads that have more tires on the ground than I can count.

Oxbow, Humblepie and Troy_ Thank this.

I would prefer to load myself. It’s usually much faster and easier on my equipment

Loading anything with the cab forward in transport mode is a different beast.

sorry if I made it sound as if I load them in transport mode, it would be impossible with one of those. just hard to see where you are 20 feet above the lowbed when the cab is standing

Humblepie, Landincoldfire and Oxbow Thank this.

I didn't mean to put anybody down, and I have to run minis with my hands because there's not enough room for my feet.

However a person gets the job done safely is ok.

SAR, MACK E-6, Humblepie and 3 others Thank this.

I didn't take it that way. a few of my customers would chuckle and shake their head when they see me all bent over using my hands on the pedals, hat on backwards because my forehead is against the windshield....at the end of the day their equipment got to where it was going lol

beastr123, Humblepie and Oxbow Thank this.
