We have one. We bought it several years ago after paying some outrageous towing bills.
LOL...it's sitting out behind the shop ready to go. I think we've used it twice. It worked great and it sure saved us some bucks. More than paid for itself.
Check with your insurance company before you tow anybody but your own equipment. Our insurance goes up like a rocket if we hire out to to tow.

I hear what you're saying. I'd just be concerned that you were jumping from the frying pan into the fire.
I've never run a wrecker but I've watched a bunch of them work over the years. It can be hard physical labor in some really crappy conditions. Lots of heavy gear to handle and lots of crawling around underneath.
I've also heard truck owners claim that the wrecker did more damage to the truck than the wreck itself did. That's probably sour grapes but maybe it's something to think about.
I'm sure your future boss has things in place to deal with situations like that.

This company has a reputation for the care they take in towing/hauling vehicles.
When I worked for them back in the day, I was driving a one ton Isuzu wrecker. This was back when roll beds were just starting to make their appearance. I was sent out in a breakdown call, it was a woman with a Porsche 911. She asked if we had a guarantee of safe tow. I told her, "No, ma'am, we can't guarantee that, and anyone that does is being less than honest." She thanked me, and asked for a rollback truck, which we didn't have yet, so I suggested one of our competitors that I knew also had a good reputation.

If anyone has other suggestions for local work, maybe something less than labor intensive or no touch, etc. in the Tacoma/Puyallup area, I'm all ears.

My old neighbor drove a rollback.
He was gone so much I thought he was a truck drive

Hey buddy. You’ve been doing night linehaul? Just curious as to what you’ve been going through. I’ve done that shift as well. It sucks but I know the money is right. However, if your health slips, what’s the point? Not being nosey, just curious. I’ve always enjoyed your posts and input.

You should also be looking for 100k/yr., zero night work, 9-5 schedule, 27 days off a year, no more paying taxes, smokin hot blonde to ride in the passenger seat with you.

Might as well go for broke.
