So, I will be upgrading my class B to a class A in June and should be done by July. I had a job with a friend all lined up before I started this process (been wanting to sinceI was a kid) but, his insurrance wont cover a driver with less than 2 yrs exp. I have contacted several companies but Maine is out of their hiring area. The one company that has given me the time of day is C.R England and they have a terminal 1 1/2 hrs from my house. Anyone have ideeas of any other companies that might talk to me? I dont really have anything against CRE but, I like to have options.
Any ideas for a guy from Maine?

I'd stay away from cre if I were you. You'd be better offs moving south then working for them
I wish I could of more help, but I did leave VT and move south for a reason lol

that seems to be the general concensus. Unfortunately moving south is not an option as I have a family and a mortgage. (selling isn't a viable option between the current market and living in a VERY small town). I'm used to working hard and actually want to do OTR. Figured a that combined with a good work ethic would at least get me a chance.

Your most likely going to have to find a small carrier to work for as most of the big boys don't hire up there

Doesn't JBS Carriers advertise all 48 states?
And don't they train new bees ? -

You could use the address of a friend or family that lives in the hiring area that you want to work out of. put in your year and then look local. the tricky part is home time, you will have to rent a car to drive home and back, or just get creative.
that is what I have to do to get in a cab! good luck!
