I set up a load bar on the highest e-track for pullups. I had a household goods trailer, though. The e-track on those run higher.

If you have a normal trailer then the e-track prolly doesn't go high enough to do pullups. but you can do bodyweight rows with the load bar.

kettlebells prolly the best thing for an otr trucker.

I also find gyms in shopping plazas. I park my truck in the back. gyms don't think it's unusual for a guy to walk in and pay for a one time visit. many of them cater to the travelling businessmen. plus you get a shower thats better than most truck stops.

That's what I was thinking. However I had no idea, and should have known, that someone had already made it. I was thinking off the top of my head, using similar methods to make my own steadi-cam, framework for a greenscreen. For a DIY, it wouldn't cost anywhere near that though.

Well i just think PVC wouldn't be strong enough to support the weight of full grown man. in order to support the weight, i think the pipe would have to be to big, to get a good grip, to do the pull ups. Maybe a PVC stand with a piece of rebar for the cross piece.

Your mind works like mine though, I am always coming up with ways to do things on the cheap.

Look into getting a set of TRX cables. Our patrol base in Afghanistan had a set and thats how we did our workouts using only bodyweights. Theyre awesome and you can put them practically anywhere.

Bringing this old post up. Has anyone come up with anything on this, I am using my upper bunk but I have to raise my knees and its not a good grip. I was thinking about trying the trapeze portable bar myself. I'm down to 185 from 232 so pull-ups and calisthenics are in range now, just need something I can do proper pull-ups on in truck. Nice finding a rest area with a good tree or bar once in awhile, I can do about 12 pull-ups in a row pretty happy, a bit more chin-up style since they are easier.

First problem is you said you got a Burger while parked in the fuel island. Second problem is if you can't find a place to do a few pull ups in the everyday world you don't deserve to live. I don't often do impromptu pull ups but can always find a place if i feel the need. But i am 6ft7in and see the world differently than most

Ive posted before that Im a runner. I take off for a half hour in any direction and turn around. That's a bit extreme but if you want to get a bit of cardio in like that then you are bound to find a tree branch or traffic signal to hang on if not a park that has bars. But a simple substitute for actual pullups that I often do is simply handstand pushups leaning your feet against your cargo doors. Or walk to the back of a quiet building and do them.

Some trucks have a bar on the back of the cab that you could use. It may work, i have never looked to see how well secured it is to the truck or if you have a lot of stuff in the way but it might be a temporary solution for you.

I was able to set up Trapeze station inside my Volvo 770 cab, it fits, but I can't open the fridge door. Still trying to figure out how to secure a bar from one wall to another
