I'm coming up on a year's experience (10 and a half months currently and counting) and I live in SW Florida around the Fort Myers area (about 100 miles south of Tampa/ 150 miles north of Miami). I'm hoping I can find either some local work or a route in Florida or AT LEAST Southeast(U.S.) regional once I get a year under my belt.

    ^^^Thank you for this reference.

So, my dream of moving from Ohio to the Gulf Coast and finding a decent driving job are slim? I've got nearly three years in and tired of these winters here.

Good jobs are not plentiful in Florida. Never have been.

Plenty of good jobs on the Gulf Coast, all the way from Tampa to Corpus Christi. I got tired of the winters to, that's why I moved from Tennessee to Nevada. Tennessee isn't as bad as Ohio, but bad enough for me.

That's good to hear. I'm looking at the Tampa/Clearwater/St. Pete areas right now.

I'm interested in the Tampa/Clearwater/St. Pete area. I've got my Hazmat and Tank and would consider running fuel. I know Tampa has a port and was wondering about moving containers. Heck, I'd even consider a Yard Spotter gig if the money and schedule fit.

Most spotter jobs around here are a set 40 hours and only like 15 bucks an hour. Now if that is what you are looking for then let me know, I think I can get you a job lol. You can also message me. If you don't mind working 6 days a week, home almost every night and making decent money.
There is no getting rich in this industry. But I think they are looking for a driver with a clean record, 3+ years experience, and good work ethic at my job. Pay for all drivers is equal, most have been with the company 15+ years, but we only have 15 drivers at this DC. Pay is right around 50k a year. Paid in mileage and cubic feet on unload.
