DC is in Mulberry on 60. Not far from you at all. Loads are preloaded. We just have to down stack, call the numbers and help unload. And yes, I am still here.
My Husband is talking with Paper Transport Inc now. He is looking to go back OTR the first week in November after being full time local delivery and part-time regional for 2 different companies. Full-time is a standard pickup truck. They do seem to really need drivers from this area as they call him several times a week. I haven't been able to find anything about them on the boards. The recruiter at Celadon said they had a safety alert which would draw more DOT inspection attention. The starting rate is not bad and they claim to have the miles. I am doing most of the research as my Husband continues to bring home the bacon. The biggies for us were a decent rider program (have heard some carries charge upward to $200 a month for a passenger) and reasonable home time (10-14 days out, 2-3 home). Since the terminal is here in Jax were thinking home time may be easier even if it's just a drive by. I have been monitoring the forum and Raven looks good and so does Abilene. Both have what we are looking for and well maintained equipment. Now if I could just find a few people that work for Paper Transport to tell me there love/hate relationship with them we could make a decision.
You might want to check out Cowens. I've heard about them, don't have any details though. Just another potion.
