    Got a buddy (over 10 years clean driving exp.) in Lincoln NE getting ready to switch from a dedicated reefer account (inconistent miles, rollecoaster paychecks) and is eyeing liquid bulking or sapp bros (omaha ne area). (He's hauled milk for dfa before, has tanker no hazmat willing to get)... I've mentioned accord (propane) to him as well... are these decent companies? @lual seems to be the expert any input / insight would be appreciated...

    @RussianBearTruckeR --

    Sadly -- I have no info/experience with the above-mentioned carriers. :(

    However...if your friend is interested in moving over to tanker duty, I can offer this: he should consider starting out by hauling fuel.

    Why?

    Hauling fuel is arguably one of the easiest gigs in the industry--& it offers its drivers a lot of advantages that other CDL jobs can't match (especially when you also consider what it pays; it's pretty steady work, too).

    Also--if he tries fuel, & later doesn't like it--it's great experience to "pivot" from...on to other tanker jobs.

    Obviously--he'll need to go back, & get that hazmat endorsement...to do that.

    Still--pretty much all the better-paying tanker gigs also require hazmat, anyway. :dontknow:

    FOOTNOTE: In all likelihood--your friend will have a MUCH BETTER experience with fuel--if he starts out with one of the PRIVATE FLEETS (e.g., Love's, Pilot/Flying J, etc).

    Given his extensive CDL experience--any of the fuel fleets would be happy to have him on board. :lol:

    Go with Wynne or liquid bulk , Sapp bros. Is notorious for being cheap .
    Also the fuel business in omaha has always been very competitive and its even worse now that Keenan has set up shop here.
    Even on the chemical board at Wynne its feast and famine .

    Wish him well !
    Still have friends at Wynne and I'd never get into tank work in this area again .
    Too many outfits chasing to few loads.
    Sapps might be ok if all ya want is a steady 700.00 a week check .
