I am new to trucking and I'm supposed to be starting with Roehl the first week of Feb. Their website doesn't say much about their trucks. Can anyone tell me what kind of equipment they have and how its maintained? Thanks.

mostly frightliners and internationals, all or most are manuals, all have bunk heaters unless they have a apu installed, trks maintained pretty good, you'll be in the shop alot, although the terminal imho in gary leaves alot to be desired, pre pass/easy pass, trks run when i was there 60 on the cruise, 62 on the foot, all in all not tooooo bad of a co for being so big, safety is taken seriously,

I guess it's kind of the luck of the draw. I've seen some that are nice and some that look pretty beat up. I am brand new to the business and have it narrowed down to either Roehl or Transam. I like what I've heard about Roehl but I think Transam has the better equipment. Any opinions? I am based in Florida and want to drive OTR.

They only have about a dozen T660s. Most of the rest are Frieghtliners and Internationals, there are also some new Volvos. You get what is available when it is time to assign a truck. If it is new, good for you, if it is old, good luck. They are buying enough new trucks to keep the fleet average below three years old. Miles is not a real big consideration anymore in how long a truck stays in the fleet. Trailers... Thats another story. They just got a bunch of new East flatbeds and step decks. The rest of the fleet, some new vans, most several years old, curtainside fleet; most 10 to 12 years old. A few that were purchased in 2005 and 2006. They do try their best to keep things fixed, but when stuff gets old it is an uphill battle.

Thanks again, I feel like I'm making the right decision going with Roehl. I had no idea how hard the decision about who to work for would be. The condition of some of their equipment is the only real ##### I've heard about them. I think it will be alot easier to deal with an older truck than as ######### company.
