Just got a call yesterday that a truck was opening up, with no idea what kind of truck it is. Started running my paperwork yesterday. Waiting for a "the" call.

    Well, they dont want me.
I have been driving 15 years, zero tickets, clean background, stable work history. Unfortunately my present job is a local driving job, and since I have been here the past 3 years, I am worthless to JS Helwig!
Of course I had to track them down for them to tell me.
Looks like Im going to JBS in Greeley, CO. Would much rather work for a company 45 minutes from my house, but oh well.

If you havent heard from them, they probably arent interested. I had to track the lady down for her to tell me it was a no deal. This is the only company that has ever, in my career, turned me down!! Absolutely crazy!! Considering my experience and driving record, which is SPOTLESS!!!
Id keep calling, because she told me they had trucks, last time I talked to her.

Any current Helwig drivers monitor this forum? I'm supposed to begin orientation Oct 25 but was wondering if there was any "key bits" of information regarding how Helwig does things, what to expect, what not to expect, pros, cons, etc. Are they good paying lumpers? Managing dispatches and appointment times?

    Thanks

Dont waste ur time this company!!! Its like a dream for the first month or so then ur dream job falls to crap. Dispatchers r nothing but a bunch of #### pencil pushers that dont know crap about a truck. And when u put them in there place they screw u from there on out. They do a bunch of meat loads that r 100mph freight in a no pulling 65mph truck. You will spend more time repowering ur loads to teams than anything. Then u get there crap. The last i heard which i just got away from there a week ago and i still have my brother still driving there and two good friends is that there miles just got cut back to 2500 miles a week and no more than 10000 a mth. There a small company trying to act like a JB Hunt. U gotta fuel when they say so and where they say so. NO BS IVE HAD TO FUEL AT A 7 ELEVEN B4 NO BULLSHITING!!!! Then u will have to go get a meat load out of Friona, Tx or Plainview, Tx. and they r rarely ready eearly and sometimes u will sit there for 48 hours to sometimes 4 days waiting for this load. Then u send in for some extra pay request and they will pay u but its only going to b $50 dollars. And i dont know about u but u cant live out OTR and sit for a period of time for $50 buck. AGAIN IF U WANNA MAKE THAT KINDA MONEYU COULD FLIP BURGERS FOR MORE.....
