I spoke to a recruiter this week and the company sounds decent and I am seeing average reviews. The only bad thing I am seeing is the drivecam. They offered decent pay, no sign on bonus ☹️, Available in cab satellite tv, 5 days out and a full 48 hours home. Doesn't sound bad but I want to hear from some drivers that have drive or are currently driving for them!! Thanks

Where in WI are you located and how much experience do you have? I may have a good lead for you.

It is a big deal to change jobs and involves some risk and stress so we ought to aim high and maybe apply at places we aren't sure we qualify.
Next job I get will be something where I can be home a lot but still get good pay. This has everything to do with where I live. Right now, I sleep in my own bed at least 12 nights/ month despite having a 12 state regional job.
A salary rather than CPM can be better because it takes all the stress off about chasing loads and trying to get bonuses and detention pay, etc. I found that I am working a lot less hard for the same money since working for a salary and have a lot less anxiety.

Another thing to consider is if the company takes students. Veriha is starting to train which will bring down the over all competence of their fleet. Newbies cause problems that soak up the time, patience and attention of the administrative staff

Veriha is OK but why settle for OK? Van Eerden operates out of Michigan and could be a better choice: great benefits, extra large sleepers in nice Kenworths, pay in the mid 70's, I am considering them because they do round trips to the West coast and I miss that scenery.

To reiterate one point: I think areas of operation is one of the most important and neglected factors for job seekers. You can have way better than advertised home time if you find the dedicated customer base or some other hub of operations near you or are willing to move to it.

I appreciate the response. I am in full agreement and operation area is a major factor in my decision. That's why I posted this status in the hopes to find companies that I can not find. I currently am home every night but my pay reflects it and there is not much advancement opportunity so I'm on the hunt. Not much otr experience but I drive a tractor trailer. Thanks for the input

I was just looking at the Van Eerden page ...looks pretty good: based in your state and average pay of $76,000 with two years minimum experience.
Just looked at Veriha page ...$10,000 less pay and "no experience needed".
Companies with higher standards are just higher quality.
