I am looking at Maverick. I tried to PM someone here about them but I am too new to the site so it won't let me. I know there is good and bad in every company. If anyone can give more insight than Mavericks Website can provide I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thank you
Any input on Maverick trucking?

You can also go on facebook and type in Maverick Q & A. Lots of drivers on there.

You should ABSOLUTELY look into joining Maverick. I signed on in Sept of last year and though it was my first company in this business, I talked to some experienced drivers in my orientation class who said it was the best orientation they had ever been through. I was glad to work for them even though it wound up being a short ride due to an accident I had.If I got back into trucking (which I won't) I would love to go back to Maverick (though I can't). They are a good company with lots of good people and I never had any problems, until that last night, lol.

Very good company. I've been in the glass division for two years.

Hey Rigbuilder, I just spoke to Maverick recuritor today. He mentioned that there is a glass division as an option to run out of Dallas. Can you fill me in on the pros and cons of flatbed or glass. Thanks! I am a new CDL grad and any info would be appreciated!
jxu417 Thanks this. -
Pros of flatbed: various freight (steel, lumber, occasional machinery and odd ball stuff)- THIS CAN ALSO BE CONSIDERED A CON SOMETIMES LOL.
US, RAT, or RSW should have you home on most weekends if that is important to you. And you get to be a Cool Flatbedder.
Rigbuilder can fill in some PROS of Glass to accompany my remarks for you.Rigbuilder Thanks this. -
The DFW area is a great area for glass. i would say there is at least 10 places we deliver in DFW. As an otr glass driver you will occasionally haul flatbed loads as well depending on where you are and what freight is available in the area.
pros: more cents per mile, typically longer loads, job site deliveries and multiple stop loads are rare(but are pain in the ### if you do get one)
cons: your hauling a breakable freight (must drive very smooth, easy in the turns, rr tracks, ect), longer load and tarp times, you have to carry 7 tarps and they give you no where to put them on the truck so you have to move them alot when you swap trailers (frequently)
you might me close enough for the dedicated account in Corsicana, TX. Im on a dedivated account in Spring Hill, ks and I love it but it is not for everyone -
Wichita Falls, TX also has a dedicated account, it's posted on Maverick's website.
