I am talking to a recruiter now about flatbed and have my application in review. I was thinking about maybe seeing if I could switch to refer, but I hear a lot of refer drivers sit extremely long hours. Any Maverick Refer drivers on here that can tell me the mileage you are getting. Every time I try to find this info I just see about flatbed mileage which looks pretty good. I was just wondering if it is worth trying to do Refer instead.

    Thanks

I'm still out with my trainer in TCD and he's had about 2800 miles a week for the past 2 weeks but YMMV depending on weather and loads. Oh yea during orientation do not call them refers, that's a big no no at Maverick

I hear that refers are all live load and live unload. Have yall done any drop and hooks or has your trainer mentioned how many drop and hooks me might get on average.

Just out of curiosity, What are you supposed to call em? That is a term that is used industry wide, and it has no negative connotations as far as I'm aware.

What is the Home time actually like in the TCD? I am thinking about getting back on the road after about 8 years, and I used to drive for Maverick back when they only had a flatbed division and I was home every weekend. I live in Benton which is about 35 miles from the N.L.R. Terminal. I will have to go out with a trainer for 21 days since I have been out of a truck for so long, can anyone tell me if they are 21 straight, or will there be some home time during that period as well?

    Thanks for the help.
