I am not a camera fan boy myself, but it does mitigate driver behavior, there is a reason why Saia drivers are taking to the passing lane at upwards of five car lengths behind the vehicle they are going to overtake, that camera doesn't necessarily start recording when you are tailgating, it can be well before that, problem is that yes you avoided tailgating, but the motorist coming up behind you tend to pass you on the right and get around you that way before you close the gap, its frustrating.
Bob Dobalina and Radman Thank this. -

You are paid to do a job. Period. Some companies pay better than others. But at the end of the day, that is exactly why we show up to these jobs. THE MONEY.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work.
They pay you to "drive the truck". My company also has these policies. Guess what, life goes on. If these things bother you, than you are too caught up in the things that don't matter.
CB radio and bluetooth ban simply keeps you more focused on what they are paying you to do, drive the truck. Smoking ban benefits everybody. If you smoke in the truck, non-smokers have to deal with it long after you have left the truck. I grew up in a smoking house and used to smoke. I never knew how strong that smell was until after I stopped smoking.
Show up and do the job. Pay me for my services. I can live with all of the other stuff. -

The CMS will start going bananas as you close on the pokey.USMC 3531 Thanks this. -
I have ran with cbs, smoked in trucks , used bluetooths. etc etc etc.
I also now have cameras everywhere, electronic policies like you won't believe and smoking policies. It's not that bad. It will only be an issue if you make it an issue. Will I not work for a company because of these things? No way. It's not a deal breaker. If it is, your priorities are in the wrong place my friend. There are plenty of things I don't like about my company as well. I could write a book. Many have already been talked about on these forums. But I've been driving long enough to know this stuff isn't as big of a deal as it is made out to be. That being said, we all have to make those decisions. I originally said this stuff makes me laugh. I didn't say it makes everyone laugh. But it does make me laugh. LOLjmz Thanks this. -
Saia ltl good people great dispatch. I like everything about it nice paychecks and I don't have a camera in my truck.

I’ll admit my job is a big part of my life and who I am, more so than most people, but it’s something I take a great deal of pride in, and if I can’t do that I want no parts of it. Saia’s degree of micromanagement would just totally quash that.FlaSwampRat Thanks this.
