Shouldn’t matter. Don’t you all know that 80% of the work is done by 20% of the drivers?

Well I haven't done P&D since my twenties, I went linehaul at 30, but I would say a more fair and accurate figure for P&D was around 70/30, 70% were getting #### knocked out, while 30% were skating, and I would venture say that is still the figure for all companies across the board today, but either way you look at it, you still need the 30% to knock out the light work, trailer spots and what not.

Yeah it was funny. Usually there’s people in the yard when I got back Saturday morning. It was a ghost town. Usually there are extra spaces to park the truck but seemed like most of the trucks were back except for the Saturday morning bids. Nobody’s signing up to do extra work either. So basically everyone that normally works extra have pretty much stopped. Including me. Plenty of freight just everyone’s figured it out and don’t want to help.

Usually even city wants to sign up to do extra linehaul runs with the good weather to make extra money but with this crack down going on they ain’t signing up.

When I first walked into Tucson, before CDL school, just askin' what they wanted, the TM wouldn't even get out of his seat, just yelled for the reception clerk to tell me not interested. Plenty of drivers, no need to talk to rabble.

Then the cameras were put in. Talking to the TM in GJ it was a different company, telling me how many drivers he lost because of taking a sip of something or touching something in the cab. Shaking his head and looking down, "we lost some good drivers". They do run triples on some heavy grades, can't be wandering around, but experienced mountain drivers with triples experience are likely not easy to get in a boom-bust oilfield town.

If they're allowing some empire-builder to do another sweep at the driver's expense, it says they still haven't learned.

I put in a feeler through Indeed for a certain location not mentioned here a few weeks back. They sent maybe 5 reminders to go fill out the app.

On their way to becoming the Swift of LTL companies, right up there with CT. And it doesn't have to be that way for them to have a great safety record.

Saia is detestable enough with the cameras, but even without those I’d never work for an ###-hole who said that to me.

Lol, oh hell no, I am perfectly content with my past mountain experiences in the Sierras and the PNW to a certain extent, now that doesn't mean I wont do it if directed by central to do so, just not looking for it, no I am real comfortable with this easy going SW running I have going on right now.
