Covid through a wrench on my Spring technical college CDL training program and I therefore took a full-time position with the company I have been with. (posted update in my original thread) Anyway, I believe it is time for the career change.

I have researched the larger carriers that offer a paid CDL training program, but I haven't been able to find much information on smaller companies that offer a paid training program. I was wondering if any of you have any information regarding reputable, smaller, family-owned companies that offer such a program? Thanks in advance.

I know this isnt what you asked about, but there is a govt program that would pay for truck driver school. You can usually find out about it from the unemployment office. That way you don't start owing a particular company a year, whether you like them or not.

    Right, I agree.
But I think Mr P is in that neighborhood as well.
Millis I would recommend. But I'm wondering if it looks any different since Heartland bought them out.

Thanks for the replies so far. Millis Transfer is on my radar as it is actually 13.8 miles from my house. I wasn’t familiar with Mr. P’s or Titan. I will research them.

    J. Bauer Trucking is based in Medford, Wisconsin, they sound like a smaller company and advertise that they offer CDL training. Don't know much about them and haven't heard much about them but might worth looking into. There's also Mast Trucking out of Ohio.

    There's one in Janesville.
The ad just says they train to get cdl and pay by the hour @ $25.00 hr. vs. milage pay.
