any of you heard of the slingbox???

I just may take the plunge the next time I have a few days off to get it all set up. Not that it would take a few days, but with everything else.

So since this is directly from the house cable, that means you get your local channels to. I'm thinking football season.

It will be worth it for football season alone.

I wonder why they haven't advertised this on XM?

 

Leo Leporte (The TECH-GUY) on XM-Xtreme (Channel 152) weekends talked about SlingBox last weekend. He likes it, and I thought about it for a couple days and ordered a SlingBox this morning from BUY.COM ($111.98 sale price) and we are going to set it up at home with it's own dedicated Sat Receiver so my Step-Son in IRAQ can watch the shows he wants.

 

Leo Leporte (The TECH-GUY on XM-Xtreme 152 weekends) was talking about SlingBox this weekend. He said that the NFL has threatened SlingBox with legal action; claiming that USE of SlingBox is "STEALING". I believe, that if you can TIME-SHIFT (RECORD) a program for personal use, you can PLACE-SHIFT (SlingBox) a program for personal use. We will see if the NFL can stop TECHNOLOGY.

 

Probably shouldn't mention SlingBox now available in a HD format. Sprint card and a hi res monitor - dvd, cable, sat and gaming become a snap - even in a truck! I'm eagerly awaiting the SlingBox that hooks to my fridge at home - stuff in there I miss worst than tv!

 

Just got off the phone with my ISP.......and I just ordered the 10mb Download/1mb Upload package!! Can't wait to get this going. Got to get the Slingbox ordered!!!

 

Hey mods......this may change to course of Mobile Television reception for the future!!!! I think this one deserves a sticky!!!

 

You better change your ISP (are we talking about Broadband card thru your cell phone carrier??) 10MBdown/1MBup wont last long and the "overage" charges are KILLERS. I can D/L a 112 MB program (like PaintShopPro v11) in just a few minutes. That is over 10 times your "10MB" package.

Get Sprint and pay for the TRUE "Unlimited" bandwidth @$60 month.

 

That's 10MB(per second) download.....and 1MB(per second) upload....I doubt you can be 10X faster than that unless you're hardwired to your ISP and they're in the other room. And like jeffro said.....Sprint doesn't charge any overages......their UNLIMITED card is truly UNLIMITED.
