Found an old 1975? Canadian built White Freightliner WFT7264T and have a few questions.
The engine is partially dismantled and covered in rags. The build plate says NTC450, but from any research I've done so far, doesn't seem like that engine rating was even around when this truck was built?
But from the people I talked to that remember this truck and judging by the new Cummins rebuild kit in the box that was with it....it all points to a KT450. Someone on another forum also told me the serial number indicates a KT1150.
It also has a compression release in the cab.![]()

Any idea why the build plate would say NTC450? And what does it mean where it says:
Engine Assembly........Deviated
Air Intake Inst......Deviated
The vehicle ID# is GA213HVO 96133
Can anyone tell me anything about this truck?
Any Old FL COE/Cummins Experts?

More pis. Looks like it was quite the truck back in it's day.
-
K series has 6 heads and valve covers. N has three heads and valve covers. A lot can happen in forty years and look original.
-
Kind of guessing the NTC450 was a twin turbo, special order. The intake and exhaust had to be custom built because it was not a standard assembly line truck.
-
I'm kinda agreeing w/boxcar....but most 450's would'very been a NTTC450 w/twin turbo. I've only seen & driven one...& it was a FL.

Only Twin turbo Cummins I can think of in that generation was the ntc 475, however I'm almost positive its a formula 450 should have the formula sticker somewhere on the motor..
However don't hold me to that as my parents were just out of Diapers when this truck was hauling, and I can only go off of old shop manuals that I have and what I hear from the Old Timers I talk to.
if you really want honest answers from people who live and breathe the old Trucks.. post this up over on the American Truck Historical Society's Forum.
Love that Canadian Spread axle though. -
That serial on the plate is for a K series, and a very early one at that.
There were no NT engines rated at more then 420hp at that time, the 475 didn't come out until the BC2 series.
That needs to be restored as is.BoxCarKidd and FinkPloyd Thank this. -
I don't believe that truck will even run the 55mph speed limit with 4.63 rears and a non overdrive 15 speed.
