The Neighborhood Pizza Cafe about two miles due north of the Campus Inn at N. Glenstone & Valley Water Mill Rd is EXCELLENT if you like pizza and deli stuff. Buckingham's BBQ at Kearney & Glenstone is pretty good and priced right. The Hong Kong Inn two miles due south of the Campus Inn about Glenstone & Commercial has some of the best chinese takeout in Springfield with dirt cheap prices. If you want ice cream or a malt... Andy's about a mile south of the motel on Glenstone is awesome! There's a Village Inn, Bob Evans, and Ryan's within walking distance of the motel... plus a Walmart and Kmart. Plenty of stuff around to keep you occupied during your short stay there. Lambert's is actually in Ozark... a good 15 miles or so south of the motel right off 65. Been by there a million times, but never stopped. Don't think I would like food thrown at me while trying to eat. It must be very good... the parking lot is always packed.
i was curious if you new of any small towns/suberbs on the outskirts of springfield? is ozark one or is that a city?
There's quite a few small towns surrounding Springfield... more than I can think about to post here. Are you looking for one in particular? Ozark and Nixa are the two main suburbs located a few miles south of Springfield. Both are cities. Ozark is on 65 and Nixa is on 13.

nothing in particular but if i were to move to mo. just wanted to know what the nice towns were away from city of springfield but close. thanks
Orientation doesn't start til Tuesday. You might be able to do those things, but not sure. When you check into the Campus Inn you'll be given: a schedule of classes, a map of the campus, and a paper application to fill out. Along with your room key.
Republic is a nice city to the SW of Springfield. Nixa and Ozark are good areas to the south. I think Ozark was voted "Safest City In America" by some group not long ago. Fordland to the SE is good. Willard to the NW is good. All of these suburbs are within 15 miles of the terminal. Nothing wrong with living inside the Springfield city limits. Great city overall. I feel more at home when I'm there than where I actually live. Hope to move over that way someday.
Yeah... the Cat 5 tornado that rolled though Joplin last May literally tore this town to shreads. That's why I head to Springfield so much... to get away from it all.
