when i was younger i worked for us express as a trailer inspector. Where the drivers came into the yard they had to pass thru the building and i would inspect the trailers for lights and tires and brakes. I would fix the lights and determine if the trailers needed tires and whatnot. I would also change the wipers for the drivers since most of them couldnt climb up on the truck. it was a boring job but i still had fun. Most of the drivers were nice. the terminal i worked for is now closed. But they seemed like a nice company.

 

I would start with an ltl outfit no matter what. I wouldn't care if I just cleaned toilets for a few years at first.
