Hello all. Life circumstances (long story) have caused me to move to Portland, OR for the foreseeable future. Need to get back through the house in Portland weekly. Chose Phoenix as turn around point to get me through Las Vegas to see family & friends. I know the likelihood of finding a company running this lane may be remote but thought maybe it’s worth an ask. Thanks in advance.
Any open deck companies running the Phoenix to Portland lane?

the company i work for runs the west coast only.. we have some runs to portland/seattle area... but our only yard is here in phoenix. not sure how that would work for you.. most of us live in az/cali but i can get you in contact with the guy that does all the hiring... all flatbed work, overlength 80% of the time but nothing crazy.. rebar/structural/angle/sheet/plate/coils/lumber/drywall.. fair amount of tarping in the winter .. let me know if you interested
there is also farr west steel, they are company out in that area, all flatbed work and they ship their own product.. we send some rebar up to their yards in portland/vancouver, they seem like a decent outfit but have no inside knowledge. just an idea..

I’d also give RAM trucking out of Albany area a look. Even Mike Lowrie would work well for that lane.
cke, CAXPT, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -

Thanks for the job leads. Will look into them. -
Central Oregon Truck Co would also be a good company to look at for that. I know they have an I-5 fleet

Hello all. I wanted to thank those that gave me suggestions on likely employers, D. Tibbitt and Rugerfan.
I have decided to not go OTR, for a while. I’m taking care of a family member who has made a strong recovery from illness, but still (my opinion not hers, lol) requires my presence to assist in her continuing recovery.
I’ll be staying here in Portland and working a local flatbed job moving construction equipment around the local area in about a 150 mile radius, more or less.
I’m a wee bit nervous about negotiating the streets of downtown Portland in a big truck, but my boss says they’re very proactive in supplying pilot cars to help their drivers when needed. We’ll see how it goes…cke, CAXPT, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this.
