I have to ship something, and am very ignorant about the process of finding a driver.
Are there any Owner Operators who would be willing to let me pick their brain about this topic? I promise that I'm not trying to sell anything, nor am I related to some Nigerian king.
Thanks

If you'll post the question, somebody will pop along and answer it to the best of our ability, probably....maybe.....kind of....

Owner/Operator,,,brain?
Kidding, lower your weapons, staff, best results I've had, is to go to a freight outfit and ask what it would cost. I've found, the destination makes a big difference, as many outfits may not go to "Bugtussle", and they "broker" your item. I doubt an O/O will deal with this. How big? Can you rent a truck, and do it yourself?Jaebo74 Thanks this. -
I'm trying to ship a backhoe, and am finding the whole process kind of cumbersome. I wanted to talk to someone who actually trucks stuff to try to understand their world and their interests in an attempt to find a better way.

I've hauled stuff like backhoes in a van trailer, trouble is, it takes up a lot of space. Step deck will be pricey. How far does it need to go and how big? I've had nightmares shipping cars, and if it's not too big, rent a Uhaul trailer and do it yourself.

It's 15,000 pounds, so Uhaul and my truck are not in the cards. I've got a broker trying to find a driver, but I want to understand the whole process from everyone's perspective.
